Referral Rock alternative for small B2B partner programs

Referral Rock is good software for what it's built for. If you run a B2B partner program with 15 partners and a HubSpot instance, it probably isn't built for you.

This page compares the two on the things that matter for a small partner program: what each one is designed to track, what it costs at your size, and where each one falls short. We sell one of them, so read accordingly, and check every number against their pricing page.

Comparing what each one tracks

Referral Rock is referral marketing software. Its unit is the member: a customer, fan, or affiliate who shares a link and earns a reward. It's built to run programs with thousands of members, and the base plan includes 10,000 of them. Rewards are gift cards, coupons, or custom fulfilment. It's strong at volume, and it comes with a program advisor on every plan.

SoundGTM is partner program management for B2B. Its unit is the deal: a company a partner introduced, tracked from registration through your CRM to close. The base plan includes 10 partners, because most B2B programs that need software have somewhere between 10 and 100. Commissions are calculated on the deal and queued for you to authorize.

If your partners are customers sharing a link for a $50 gift card, Referral Rock is the better fit and this page ends here. If your partners are agencies, consultants, or other companies registering deals worth thousands, keep going.

Comparing price at 15 partners

Referral Rock: The Operator plan is $250 a month, month to month, with a 10% discount for annual billing. That includes one program, 10 user seats, and 10,000 members. A second program is $100 a month more. There's a 14-day trial and no free tier.

SoundGTM: Free up to 10 partners and 50 deals, with no credit card and no time limit. Growth is $50 a month for 100 partners. Scale is $250 a month for 500 partners. Every new account gets 14 days of Scale, then drops to Free.

At 15 partners, Referral Rock's entry price is SoundGTM's top price. That's not a criticism of Referral Rock. Its plan is sized for 10,000 members, and you'd be paying for capacity you don't use.

Comparing the CRM question

Most small B2B partner programs already live half in a CRM. The partner-driven deals are in HubSpot with a "Partner Source" field, and the question is whether the software can read them.

SoundGTM connects to HubSpot or Attio on the free tier, and Salesforce, Pipedrive, and Zoho on Growth. You tag the partner on the deal, and SoundGTM keeps stage, close date, and last activity in sync from there. Each deal gets a risk score, and when one goes quiet, the check-in email is drafted for you.

Referral Rock is built around members and rewards rather than CRM deal stages. Check their integrations page for your CRM before assuming either way; we haven't audited it and won't characterize it here.

The trade-off on SoundGTM's side: it's built around deals in a CRM. If you don't use one and don't want to, the free tier still tracks deals you register by hand or upload, but the automatic part of "tracked automatically" depends on the connection.

Comparing what happens in your AI

SoundGTM runs as an MCP server. Connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and you can ask which partner deals are stalling, which invites nobody accepted, and what's waiting on you to authorize, without opening the app.

For a one-person program, this is the difference between checking a dashboard and getting a to-do list. We don't know whether Referral Rock offers an equivalent; ask them.

Choosing

Pick Referral Rock if you're running a customer referral program with hundreds or thousands of members and a rewards budget.

Pick SoundGTM if you're running a B2B partner program from a CRM, you have between five and a few hundred partners, and you'd rather start free than start at $250.
